Lead NJ Unites Around "An Anti-Bias Vision for the Next Generation," Report and Recommendations by the New Jersey Interagency Task Force to Combat Youth Bias Thursday February 11th, 3:00pm, via Zoom. Join LNJ alumni and the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights for a powerful discussion on combatting youth bias crime. While prejudice and bias crimes are not new phenomena, there is evidence of an alarming increase in bias crimes committed by children and young adults over the past few years. In October 2020, the New Jersey Interagency Task Force to Combat Youth Bias published a report outlining the current state of bias crimes in New Jersey, existing laws and regulations pertaining to bias crime, and community-based recommendations to youth bias crimes. Lead New Jersey has brought together four alumni working around the state with New Jersey's youth, along with the Division on Civil Rights Director, to share their perspectives on this issue and report and help guide the implementation of the recommendations.
Registration for this event is free, but limited. Login information for the Zoom meeting will be provided with registration confirmation.
